A prominent law firm is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field to join its Intellectual Property practice group. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to patent preparation and prosecution efforts for clients across a wide range of advanced technologies, including AI and machine learning. Duties

1. Draft and prosecute patent applications involving electrical, software, computer science, and emerging technologies
2. Manage all aspects of U.S. and international patent prosecution
3. Conduct technical and legal research related to patent strategy and innovation
4. Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals in the preparation of opinions and due diligence assessments
5. Provide strategic input on portfolio development and IP protection

Requirements

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications
2. Background in technologies such as electrical systems, software, computer hardware, AI, or machine learning
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-oriented legal team
4. Strong analytical and organizational skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Certifications

Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required
