Perform comprehensive prior art searches to assess patentability and freedom-to-operate
Review technical literature, patent documents, and scientific publications
Draft original patent applications and respond to USPTO office actions
Assist legal professionals in patent strategy, prosecution, and litigation support
Interpret engineering principles related to mechanical, chemical, or biomedical devices
Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal professionals on innovation protection
Contribute to developing IP strategies aligned with client objectives
Minimum of 1 year of patent-related experience in a law firm setting
Practical industry experience in medical devices or related technologies
Strong English communication skills—both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively in team environments
Registered U.S. Patent Agent or eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field
An advanced degree is a strong advantage
Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) or qualification to register
Deep technical understanding of medtech and engineering concepts
Analytical and research-oriented mindset
Precision in technical writing and patent claim drafting
Self-motivated with strong learning agility
Capable of explaining complex technical information clearly
