Job summary

Quarles & Brady LLP seeks an associate with 2–5 years of experience to join our dynamic national Intellectual Property group practice as an IP Litigation attorney. An undergraduate degree or an advanced degree in a technological or scientific field is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate would have experience, or a strong interest in developing experience, in representing clients in all stages of patent, trademark, trade secrets, and other intellectual property litigation.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of IP litigation experience preferred.
• Strong academic record.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Qualified applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript and writing sample.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in patent, trademark, trade secrets and other IP litigation.
• Early case assessment and prior art analysis.
• Draft invalidity and infringement claim charts and assist with contentions.
• Draft pleadings and motions and handle related meet-and-confers.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery and coordinate with e-discovery tools/vendors.
• Manage complex discovery and negotiations and prepare deposition outlines.

• Early case assessment and investigations, including accused products and prior art analysis
• Drafting invalidity and infringement claim charts and assisting with contentions
• Drafting pleadings and motions, including handling related meet-and-confers
• Preparing and responding to written discovery and working with e-discovery tools and vendors
• Managing complex discovery and discovery negotiations
• Preparing claim construction briefs and hearing materials
• Working with experts on reports and testimony
• Preparing deposition outlines and exhibits
