Job summary

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Arizona in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in intellectual property law.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
  • Experience with trademark prosecution and portfolio management.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating IP and technology-related agreements.
  • Knowledge of copyright, trademark, trade secret, and patent law.
  • Experience conducting IP due diligence for business transactions.
  • Intellectual property litigation experience is a plus.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent client service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Portable book of business is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on the protection, acquisition, enforcement, and commercialization of IP assets.
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute trademark applications before the USPTO.
  • Conduct trademark clearance searches and prepare legal opinions.
  • Draft and negotiate IP and technology-related agreements.
  • Counsel clients on copyright registration, ownership, and enforcement.
  • Advise on trade secret protection and confidentiality strategies.
  • Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions.
  • Assist with IP portfolio management and strategic planning.
  • Evaluate infringement claims and advise on enforcement strategies.
  • Draft cease-and-desist letters and respond to infringement allegations.
  • Represent clients in intellectual property disputes and litigation support.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in other practice areas to address IP issues.
  • Monitor developments in IP law and advise clients on changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and participate in business development.
