Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• 3-6 years of substantive IP experience, including litigation and/or transactional matters.
• Active Texas Bar membership or ability to obtain admission.
• Experience with patent, trademark, copyright, or trade secret matters.
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in IP disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and related commercial matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
• Draft and negotiate IP licensing agreements and related transactional documents.
• Prepare and prosecute patent and trademark applications, including responding to USPTO office actions.
• Assist clients with IP portfolio management, protection, and enforcement strategies.
• Assist with hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Work directly with clients to evaluate legal issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
• Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on complex litigation and transactional matters.

Cokinos seeks a talented, motivated Intellectual Property Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in intellectual property litigation and transactional matters, including patent and trademark prosecution, licensing agreements, and IP portfolio management. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, along with the ability to manage complex matters and work collaboratively with attorneys and clients, are essential.

• Technical or scientific background, particularly for patent-related matters.
• Experience with complex commercial litigation involving intellectual property issues.
