How You’ll Make An Impact

Valvoline Global is seeking an Intellectual Property and Marketing Paralegalwith meaningful experience in intellectual property and marketing law. This role will be a key partner with the Commercial and Corporate Legal teams and will report directly to the Global Intellectual Property and Marketing Specialist.

In addition, this role will be responsible for the following:

• Conducting trademark clearance searches, and analyzing search results, daft summaries, and recommendations on a global basis.
• Assisting with prosecution of trademark and patent filings as well as renewals on a global basis including working with key stakeholders from the business to gather use evidence and compliance with applicable laws.
• Assisting with trademark enforcement and investigations on a global basis including identifying trademark infringement and evidence gathering to support litigation.
• Reviewing of advertising promotions and sweepstakes rules, terms and conditions as well as print and digital marketing material and advertising collateral including press releases, websites, and social media content for compliance with trademark rights and policies, corporate guidelines, and advertising law principles.
• Reviewing of marketing claims and substantiation materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations including FDA and FTC compliance.
• Providinglegal support and advice to various business units within the company.
• Assisting in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the company’s operations comply with applicable legal and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Need

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program
• 4+ years of experience supporting legal functions related to trademark prosecution and enforcement.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property laws, regulations, and practices globally.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay range: $59,200 - $74,000 per year
