Job summary

Keystone Human Services in Mechanicsburg, PA seeks a Program Specialist Trainee to support independence for individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism. You will assist the Area Supervisor and Direct Support Professionals and help develop and implement individual assessments, support plans, and behavioral support under supervision.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and strong communication, with daily driving duties and completion of required trainings such as First Aid and CPR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License with daily access to a vehicle.
• Completion of required trainings including First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Area Supervisor and Direct Support Professionals to promote independence.
• Develop and implement individual assessments and support plans.
• Collaborate on behavioral support plans with the Behavioral Health Professional.

Keystone Human Services is currently seeking a Program Specialist Trainee to join our team of professionals in making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors and the community. The Program Specialist Trainee assists the Area Supervisor and Direct Support Professionals to enhance and promote the independence of the individuals supported. The Program Specialist Trainee works closely with the Behavioral Health Professional who will provide direction and support in the development and implementation of individual assessments, individual support plans and other associated plans of care, including behavioral support.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism
• Intermediate computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Successful completion of required trainings within specified timeframes, including First Aid and CPR certifications and others mandated by regulations
• Valid Driver’s License with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
• Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks
