Job summary

Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a College Grad for the LTD Advanced Device Development track. You will lead research to enable innovative device architectures and coordinate with Design and Foundry teams to solve circuit-level challenges.

Youll set device performance targets for PDK releases, evaluate silicon-to-simulation health for high-volume manufacturing, and design robust test structures to extract key device parameters while leveraging statistics and programming skills.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related semiconductor field.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in semiconductor materials, fabrication, and device physics.
  • Electrical characterization of semiconductor devices (transistors, diodes, etc.).
  • Advanced device structures and process monitoring knowledge as described in preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scientific research enabling manufacture of innovative device architectures.
  • Set advanced device performance targets for PDK releases and interface with Design/Foundry partners.
  • Assess silicon-to-simulation health and readiness for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Define robust test structures and test programs to validate design rules and extract key parameters.
  • Use statistics, data mining, and other data analysis techniques on electrical-test, yield, and fab data.

What you will be considered for

LTD Advanced Device Development Engineers are responsible for leading scientific research enabling the manufacture of innovative device architectures, including but not limited to: Set advanced device performance targets for Process Design Kit releases and Interface with Design and Foundry partners to address circuit-level issues Assess Silicon-to-Simulation health and readiness for High Volume Manufacturing Define robust test structures and test programs to validate advanced design rules and reliably extract key device parameters Use Statistics, Data Mining, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from Electrical-test, yield, and fab data to define future development direction.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or scientific field of study directly related to Semiconductor. Minimum of 6 months of experience in one or more of the following: Semiconductor materials, fabrication, and device physics. Electrical characterization of Semiconductor Devices (transistor, diode, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Transistor Device Structures and Device Physics Process monitoring Test structures design and layout experience Device and circuit simulation Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles and engineering analysis tools Expertise in database structures, research methods, analytics packages (i.e., JMP, MATLAB, Octave), scripting languages (i.e., JSL, Perl, TCL), or programming languages (i.e., Python, SQL, C/C++) Expertise in agentic AI and orchestrated LLM workflows, machine learning, deep learning, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), knowledge engineering, and dataflow pipeline architectures.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US

$136,900.00-193,270.00 USD
