Job summary

Spire, Inc. seeks a Compliance Engineer II (Integrity Management) to support the Distribution Integrity Management Program and regulatory reporting for pipeline safety.

You will conduct risk assessments, support replacement programs, MAOP reviews, and coordinate PHMSA/PSC inspections, audits, and maintenance projects, with occasional travel and after-hours work. Prepare annual and incident reports, maintain records, and contribute to SMS initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of operations/engineering experience in a regulated natural gas distribution system or related industry.
• Familiarity with state and federal pipeline safety regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ESRI software applications.
• Familiarity with the company’s business systems, operating standards and replacement programs.
• Ability to effectively manage contractor personnel and control project expenses.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and update integrity management programs for pipelines and facilities (distribution, underground storage, LNG, regulator stations, odorizers).
• Complete risk assessments and risk modeling for pipelines and facilities.
• Prepare state and federally required reports and documentation (annual reports, incident reports, safety-related condition reports).
• Coordinate PHMSA and PSC inspections, internal audits, and other reviews.
• Support infrastructure upgrade, replacement, and maintenance programs (e.g., Cast Iron/Bare Steel replacement, regulator upgrades).
• Perform MAOP verification reviews and related integrity assessments.
• Maintain system record reviews to ensure reliable and verifiable data.
• Support SMS implementation and related programs.
• Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required.
