Federal Signal in University Park, IL is seeking a part-time Intern as an Integration Technician. The student should be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and will assist in testing, wiring, firmware loading, and system integration.

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for a part time Intern in the role of Integration Technician at our University Park, Illinois facility. The successful candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in electronics, electrical technology, industrial technology, computer technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field of study at an accredited university. This position conducts Acceptance Testing which includes comprehending systems drawings, wiring AC/DC power and simulation equipment, configuring systems equipment, loading firmware, modifying IP addresses, and aids in the development of system test procedures. This position provides first line internal support for all field service and commissioning activities.
Through testing, confirms all engineered systems are manufactured to customer design specifications and applicable test regime.
Ensures all work is completed to the correct documentation revisions and mark ups, etc. and are communicated to Systems Engineering.
Coordinates and participates in commissioning engineer training programs.
Performs software integration and testing.
Assists Engineering in the design, documentation, and testing of new products as required.
Assists with training and demonstration of systems.
Other duties as required.
Undergraduate junior or senior student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a technical field as listed above.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
