Job summary

Federal Signal in University Park, IL is offering a part-time Internship as an Integration Technician. The student will pursue a bachelor’s degree in electronics or a related technical field and participate in Acceptance Testing, wiring AC/DC power, and loading firmware while supporting test procedures.

Responsibilities include configuring systems, loading firmware, IP address updates, and providing first-line internal support for field service and commissioning activities.

Job description

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for a part time Intern in the role of Integration Technician at our University Park, Illinois facility. The successful candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in electronics, electrical technology, industrial technology, computer technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field of study at an accredited university. This position conducts Acceptance Testing which includes comprehending systems drawings, wiring AC/DC power and simulation equipment, configuring systems equipment, loading firmware, modifying IP addresses, and aids in the development of system test procedures. This position provides first line internal support for all field service and commissioning activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Through testing, confirms all engineered systems are manufactured to customer design specifications and applicable test regime.

Ensures all work is completed to the correct documentation revisions and mark ups, etc. and are communicated to Systems Engineering.

Coordinates and participates in commissioning engineer training programs.

Performs software integration and testing.

Assists Engineering in the design, documentation, and testing of new products as required.

Assists with training and demonstration of systems.

Other duties as required.

Position Requirements

Undergraduate junior or senior student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a technical field as listed above.

Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
