Job summary

Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) is seeking an API integrations engineer in Irvine, CA to own the connections between our SaaS platform and customers’ systems. You’ll build and troubleshoot integrations, run SQL validations, and monitor scheduled syncs, all while directly assisting clients.

You’ll work hands-on with REST endpoints using Postman or Insomnia, study third‑party APIs, map data fields, document behaviors, and explain tradeoffs in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• ~3 years of hands-on experience building custom API integrations using REST endpoints, not just pre-built connectors.
• SQL proficiency for data validation and configuration review.
• Comfortable being client-facing and explaining tradeoffs in plain language.

Our client is a SaaS industry leader that is looking to bring on someone to own the integrations between their platform and the systems their customers use. This is a hands‑on role where you'll be in the APIs yourself, building and troubleshooting connections, writing SQL to validate data, and monitoring scheduled syncs. You'll also be client-facing, helping customers get their integrations stood up and running cleanly.
