Job summary

City and County of San Francisco’s SFMTA hires for a Train Control Upgrade Project IT role responsible for integrating new technologies across the Muni system. You will work with stakeholders, vendors, and operational teams to ensure reliable data flows and system interoperability.

The role emphasizes API-driven integration, middleware testing, and data transformation, with a focus on real-time data systems and enterprise ITS collaboration. On-site work is required most days.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in computer science/engineering/IS with 60+ credits.
• Three years of experience in analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining system components.
• One year of additional experience may substitute for the degree.
• Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to define requirements and resolve integration issues.
• Provide technical input on integration approaches, interface design, and testing methodologies.
• Create and document interface specifications, technical documents, and diagrams.
• Identify data dependencies and map between systems.
• Create data transformation and migration scripts.
• Configure and test APIs, middleware, and messaging systems.
• Analyze and resolve integration issues with minimal disruption to performance.
• Develop and execute end-to-end test plans including failover validation.
