Job summary

iCapital is seeking a Software Integration Engineer - Associate to join the Annuities Platform Team. You will develop, test and support integrations across API, application and database layers, contributing to ownership of development, testing and deployment support.

The role involves building and validating REST APIs, working with XML/JSON, EF/LINQ data access, SQL, and collaborating across Product, QA, DevOps and Support teams. Office-based in Colorado Springs with some remote work days.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development or integration engineering experience, preferably with API-based and enterprise integrations.
• Strong knowledge of C#, .NET, OOP and design principles.
• Experience developing/consuming REST APIs, including error handling, logging, validation, authentication, and configuration.
• Solid XML/JSON parsing, validation, mapping and troubleshooting payloads.
• SQL proficiency for data validation, joins and troubleshooting data issues.
• Experience using Postman for API testing and response analysis.
• Understanding of Git branching, PRs, merges and basic conflicts.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning and story grooming.
• Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end integration issues across API, app, data and deployment layers.
• Nice to have: EF/LINQ data access, Azure DevOps pipelines, React frontend changes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations of moderate complexity independently using C#, .NET, REST APIs, XML, JSON, EF, and LINQ.
• Clarify requirements, API contracts, data mappings and validations during technical discussions.
• Develop, consume and validate REST APIs and handle HTTP semantics, auth, headers, and errors.
• Use Postman to test payloads, analyze API responses and troubleshoot failures.
• Work with XML/JSON data structures, mappings and transformations and validate data.
• Apply EF and LINQ for data access and manipulation; use SQL for data issues.
• Troubleshoot integration issues across development, QA, UAT and production environments.
• Manage Git source control and Azure DevOps for CI/CD and deployment tasks.
• Understand and implement lightweight React frontend changes when needed.
• Participate in peer code reviews and adhere to security/maintainability standards.
• Support production issues and weekend/off-hours work as needed.
• Build knowledge of product workflows and business domain.
