Job summary

Qualifications

Akkodis is seeking a Integration Engineer for one of our clients in San Jose, CA.

Rate Range: $75.00/hour to $85.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

The ADAS Software Integration & Measurement Engineer is responsible for integrating, commissioning, and maintaining Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) software, hardware, and measurement systems within development and test vehicles. This role ensures that vehicle platforms, ECUs, sensors, computing systems, software releases, and data acquisition environments are fully operational and ready to support engineering, validation, and testing activities.

The engineer serves as a key technical resource for software deployment, vehicle instrumentation, measurement system configuration, and troubleshooting across software, hardware, networking, and vehicle systems. Working closely with software developers, systems engineers, validation teams, technicians, and cross-functional stakeholders, this individual helps ensure reliable vehicle integration and data collection while supporting continuous development and testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Software Integration & Vehicle Commissioning

• Integrate and deploy ADAS/AD software releases into development and test vehicles.
• Configure, commission, and validate ECUs, sensors, computing platforms, and supporting hardware.
• Perform software flashing, calibration, startup procedures, functional verification, and system configuration.
• Manage software versions, dependencies, integration baselines, and vehicle-specific configurations.
• Verify compatibility across software packages, hardware variants, sensors, and vehicle platforms.
• Analyze logs, diagnostics, communication traces, and system behavior to identify issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration problems involving embedded software, operating systems, middleware, ECUs, sensors, and vehicle networks.
• Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with engineering teams.
• Maintain documentation of software configurations, integration status, vehicle readiness, and known limitations.

Measurement Systems & Vehicle Infrastructure

• Define, install, configure, and maintain measurement and data acquisition systems in development vehicles.
• Create and manage measurement setups for testing, troubleshooting, validation, and performance analysis.
• Integrate and configure data loggers, sensors, network interfaces, synchronization systems, and storage solutions.
• Ensure reliable collection and synchronization of vehicle, sensor, ECU, localization, and network data.
• Configure or develop solutions to acquire, monitor, process, record, and export measurement data.
• Maintain in-vehicle computing platforms, operating systems, networking equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
• Commission and calibrate sensors, measurement equipment, and ADAS/AD components.
• Collaborate with engineering and workshop teams to develop new vehicle instrumentation solutions.
• Support installation and commissioning of prototype and development vehicle hardware.
• Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, ECUs, sensors, network topology, measurement channels, and calibration status.
• Develop reusable and standardized measurement configurations across vehicles and test programs.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure vehicle and equipment availability.
• Provide technical guidance and setup documentation for engineers, technicians, and vehicle users.
• Gather, clarify, and document requirements related to software integration, measurement systems, and ADAS/AD functionality.
• Identify interfaces and dependencies across software, hardware, sensors, ECUs, and vehicle networks.
• Support development of integration strategies, system descriptions, test plans, and validation approaches.
• Assist with software-in-the-loop (SIL), integration, regression, and vehicle-level testing activities.
• Prepare vehicles and measurement systems for validation programs and test campaigns.
• Analyze measurement data to evaluate system performance and identify root causes of issues.
• Support defect reproduction, corrective-action verification, and regression testing efforts.
• Document test configurations, results, defects, analysis findings, and supporting evidence.
• Partner with validation teams to ensure integration issues are addressed through formal testing.
• Apply systems engineering principles to support evolving ADAS and autonomous driving programs.

Qualifications and Key Competencies

• 5+ years of experience in automotive software integration, vehicle measurement systems, embedded systems, ADAS/AD development, or vehicle testing.
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems, networking, drivers, and in-vehicle computing environments.

Education
