Lightfox Games is looking for an Integration Artist to join our Seattle team to work on an unannounced mobile game for a world-class IP and Publisher. This role is hybrid out of our Seattle office with approximately 50% of time expected in-person. We are a quick-to-videocall, video-on studio.
You will be the bridge between finished art and the running game, making sure every asset lands in Unity looking right, performing well on mobile devices, and ready to ship.
Responsibilities
- Take finished art from internal artists and external vendors and bring it into Unity: import settings, materials and shaders, prefabs, and LODs.
- Hook up rigs and animations in engine, working with engineers on character and animation setup.
- Set up and light scenes so assets read correctly in game.
- Keep content within mobile performance and memory budgets, including texture sizes and compression, poly counts, and draw calls.
- Validate incoming assets against technical specs and style guides, and flag fixes back to vendors and artists with clear, actionable notes.
- Build small tools, checklists, and templates that make integration faster and more consistent.
- Test content on target devices and work with engineers to resolve art-related performance issues.
- Partner with the Art Director, Technical Artists, engineers, and producers to plan and land art for each milestone.
Requirements
- 0–2+ years of experience in game art, technical art, or art integration, or equivalent experience on a shipped game or substantial student project.
- Strong working knowledge of Unity, including asset import, materials, prefabs, and scene setup.
- Proficiency in Maya or Blender, plus Photoshop and Substance.
- Working knowledge of rigging and skinning fundamentals and of bringing animation into engine.
- Solid understanding of real-time constraints such as texture budgets, polygon counts, draw calls, and LODs.
- Comfortable with Perforce or Git and with tracking work in Jira.
- Clear written and verbal communication with distributed teams and external vendors.
- A portfolio that shows your work in engine.
Nice to have
- Shipped a mobile title.
- Scripting in C# or Python for tools or pipeline automation.
- Experience working on a licensed IP.
- Experience working within outsourcing pipelines.
- Experience with Shader Graph or VFX.
- Experience using AI tools in an art workflow.
Compensation
US$70,000 to US$85,000 depending on experience, plus health/vision/dental coverage, 401(k) matching, commuting benefits, and equity.
