GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
Be part of the integration and test team that helps develop the latest unmanned aerial systems. Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems seeks integration and test engineers to design, develop, integrate, and test our next‑generation unmanned tactical aircraft and target platforms. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage effort and time within the budget and schedule provided for the task.
- Understand customer requirements and work with System Engineering to develop test documents.
- Develop integration and test procedures traceable to requirements.
- Prepare formal, controlled engineering documentation (e.g., test procedures, test plans).
- Support design review material for technical interchange meetings with suppliers and customers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction for projects.
- Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Support flight testing, data reduction, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare test plans, cases, procedures, and reports.
- Follow safety precautions and perform hazard analysis.
- Keep work area and equipment clean.
- Comply with established QMS procedures.
- Identify, document, track, mitigate/exploit, and report on program risks or opportunities.
- Support transition from preliminary design to manufacturing.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Integration and Test Engineer IV
- Act as the Lead Integration and Test Engineer for very complex projects involving multiple systems and frequent customer interface.
- Act as Test Director.
- Prepare formal, controlled engineering documentation.
- Prepare and present design review material for technical interchange meetings.
- Plan projects and execute with attention to detail.
- Provide direction and oversight to Integration and Test Engineers.
- Provide interface to other engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Aero/Flight) and ensure requirements are satisfied during overall system integration.
- Manage the engineering team’s effort and time within budget and schedule.
- Report project status periodically (budget/schedule vs. proposed).
- Report progress in meeting customer requirements periodically.
- Mentor Level I‑III Integration and Test Engineers.
- Support business development efforts related to quotes, proposals, and sales.
- Monitor and report on customer satisfaction.
- May lead entire technical program team.
- Demonstrate senior‑level leadership and program management skills.
- Responsible for cost and schedule performance on program.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Team leadership at more senior levels, progressing toward Project Engineer and Chief Engineer roles.
COMPENSATION
$145,000 - $170,000
Education and Experience
Required
- BS Degree in Engineering in one of the following disciplines: Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics.
Experience and Role Specifics
- Minimum 11 years related experience in Integration and Test engineering, including full program life cycle from proposal to project closeout.
- Large program cost account management experience.
Preferred
- Minimum 6 years lead engineer experience in the aerospace industry.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Office and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (computer usage).
- May work extended hours or weekends.
- May have exposure to manufacturing environment with potential uncontrolled climate, noise, dust, and hazardous chemicals/waste.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- 0–25% travel; may be required between KUAS locations, internationally and/or domestically.
