Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. (ULH) is seeking an EDI / Integration Analyst to own and optimize our EDI connections with customers, 3PLs, 4PLs, and trading partners.

You will manage translation accuracy, monitor transmission health, and resolve issues affecting daily transportation operations. This hands-on role includes partner onboarding, CIC migration work, and ongoing configuration with Cleo VLTrader, Clarify, and CIC.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of ANSI X12 transaction sets (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 810, 856, 990).
• Experience in an EDI operations, integration support, or trading partner coordination role.
• Ability to troubleshoot systematically — isolate whether a failure is data, mapping, connectivity, or partner-side.

Responsibilities

• Monitor EDI queues and transmission health across partners — proactively identify and resolve transmission failures, delays, and partner exceptions before they affect operations
• Establish trading partner connectivity and configure mapping per trading partner specifications
• Support trading partner onboarding end-to-end — setup, mapping, testing, cutover, and post-launch monitoring — working alongside senior EDI engineers
• Troubleshoot EDI processes and workflows; diagnose whether an issue is data, mapping, connectivity, or partner-side
• Remedy outage and transmission-failure situations expeditiously, escalating appropriately when an issue exceeds defined authority
• Communicate directly with trading partners on onboarding progress, migration notifications, cutover scheduling, and issue resolution
• Review scorecard discrepancies with trading partners and drive them to resolution
• Support the migration of EDI workloads to Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC) as the strategic platform, developing hands-on CIC capability over time
• Manage mailbox administration, connectivity setup (FTP / SFTP / VAN), and partner access
• Document and maintain trading partner configurations, onboarding checklists, and training material
• Own assigned EDI tickets through the full lifecycle — intake, triage, resolution, and documentation — in the team’s ticketing system

Job description

The EDI / Integration Analyst is a member of the Business Integration team responsible for the electronic data interchange (EDI) connections between ULH, our customers, and their partners (3PLs, 4PLs, and trading partners). This role establishes and maintains trading partner connectivity, ensures accurate translation of EDI documents, monitors transmission health, and resolves EDI issues that affect day-to-day transportation operations.

This is a hands-on operational role. You will own the EDI queue, communicate directly with trading partners through onboarding and issue resolution, and support the team’s work on our strategic cloud integration platform, Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC). You will work alongside experienced EDI and integration engineers, with a clear path to grow into senior integration work as you develop platform depth.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of EDI fundamentals and common ANSI X12 transaction sets (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 810, 856, 990)


• Experience in an EDI operations, integration support, or trading partner coordination role


• Understanding of trading partner connectivity methods — FTP / SFTP / VAN


• Ability to troubleshoot systematically — isolate whether a failure is data, mapping, connectivity, or partner-side


• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting directly with external trading partners


• Organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined about documentation and ticket hygiene


• Ownership mentality — sees issues through to resolution and communicates proactively


• Ability to prioritize and shift focus quickly in an operational environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on experience with Cleo VLTrader, Clarify, or Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC)


• EDI mapping and configuration experience


• Familiarity with SQL Server for data validation (SELECT, basic joins)


• Knowledge of REST APIs — concepts, request/response, and how APIs complement EDI integration


• Experience with a transportation management system (TMWSuite or equivalent)


• Understanding of the logistics and transportation industry


• Experience supporting intermodal or trucking EDI workflows

GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

This role is a development track toward Senior Integration Engineer. As you build depth — executing trading partner onboarding independently, developing CIC platform capability, and taking on integration design — you will grow from operational EDI work into senior integration engineering. ULH invests in structured cross-training and clear development milestones, and this role is positioned to progress as the strategic CIC platform matures.
