Job summary

BTI is a premier agriculture and farm equipment dealership serving central and western Kansas. This on-site role centers on diagnostics, repairs, and customer interaction for agricultural equipment, including John Deere AMS technologies. A valid license and willingness to travel support service delivery.

You will perform complex repairs, document work orders, and promote service programs while maintaining equipment and tools. High school diploma and strong customer focus are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of agricultural experience, preferably John Deere experience.
• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and perform basic computer functions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment.
• Travel to BTI customers inside or outside the area when needed.
• Explain technology and maintenance concerns to customers and document work orders.
• Promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customers.
• Complete reports and forms with work assignments.
• Maintain mobile service vehicle, inventory, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment with focus on established and new John Deere AMS technologies.
• Be willing to travel to any BTI customer inside or outside our area of responsibility.
• Review and explain, technology, maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with the customer and document to work orders
• Promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customers.
• Complete reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Implement effective stocking processes with Parts department to maintain proper seasonal part inventory for common repairs.
• Maintain condition of mobile service vehicle, inventory, tools and equipment.
• Follow safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Account for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
• Complete John Deere training courses and other continuing education classes, as assigned.
• Disseminate information learned to other BTI employees. Be willing to give presentations at internal and customer meetings.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

• 3+ years of agricultural experience, preferably John Deere experience
• Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
• Ability to use Service Advisor and perform basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required; associates degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license is required; CDL and forklift license preferred
