Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a field installation technician to set up complex security systems, including wiring, access control, CCTV, and intercoms for commercial clients. You will read plans, troubleshoot with test equipment, and ensure proper operation of all components.

The role requires experience with fire alarm and camera systems, IP networking, and NFPA/ NEC compliance, and involves on-call duties and driving company vehicles. Training on ADT A.I core access and CCTV is provided.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
2+ year experience Commercial Fire Alarm Systems.
2+ year experience in Commercial Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
2+ year experience in Commercial Access Control Systems.
Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
Must be computer literate to include advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
Required to participate in After-Hour On-Call Rotation
Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
Is proficient with all aspects and operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.
Proficient with NFPA Code and National electric Code (NEC)

Responsibilities

Install complex integrated security systems including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, and intercoms.
Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
Troubleshoot problems using electronic test equipment.
Test and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
Complete paperwork related to job assignments.
Feed and terminate cables through walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
Conduct end-user training.
