K Group Companies is seeking a Physical Security Systems Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI to act as a hands-on technical resource across physical security, low voltage, building automation, and integrated technology systems. You will configuration, program, test, and troubleshoot in-house before deployment and provide field support, documentation, and collaboration across engineering and project teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience configuring, programming, commissioning, integrating, or troubleshooting control, low voltage, physical security, building automation, or related technology systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience with equipment and systems from multiple manufacturers.
• Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals and how devices communicate across a customer network.
• Ability to read system, network, and wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Configure, program, bench-test equipment in-house before deployment.
• Perform factory acceptance and functional testing to validate systems against project requirements.
• Identify and resolve configuration or integration issues before they reach the field.
• Prepare equipment and technical documentation for field teams.
• Improve staging procedures, testing standards, and deployment processes.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for field technicians and project teams.
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving low voltage, physical security, controls, networking, and integrated systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues remotely when possible and travel to customer sites as needed.
• Own technical issues through resolution and document solutions.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for additional support.
