Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader to guide the Compression Systems Engineering team within ESTO, driving engineering execution and cross-functional collaboration on the F135 and F119 programs.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams to balance schedule, cost, quality, and customer commitments while mentoring engineers and advancing program improvements across suppliers and internal partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Advanced degree in related field with 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary IPT supporting F135, F119, and rotating hardware programs, delivering on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage engineering execution including planning, resources, budget, risk, and milestone tracking.
  • Drive hardware investigations with suppliers to identify root causes and implement improvements.
  • Lead change activities and coordinate evaluations, inquiries, and dispositions to improve reliability.
  • Mentor engineers and foster collaboration and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Travel 10% domestically and internationally.

Job description

A world leader in aerospace and defense engineering, Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader to support the Compression Systems Engineering team within Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO). In this role, you will provide technical and program leadership supporting the F135 and F119 engine programs by driving engineering execution, product improvements, operational readiness, and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex engineering challenges while ensuring cost, schedule, quality, and customer commitments are achieved.

What You Will Do
  • Lead a multidisciplinary IPT supporting F135, F119, and rotating hardware programs, ensuring engineering deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical requirements.
  • Manage engineering execution, including project planning, resource allocation, budget oversight, risk management, and milestone tracking while communicating program status to senior leadership and Military Component IPTs.
  • Drive hardware investigations by partnering with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and execute engineering product improvements.
  • Lead Class II Engineering Change activities and coordinate engineering evaluations, supplier technical inquiries, and non-conformance dispositions to improve product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Mentor engineers while fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and proactive risk mitigation across cross-functional teams to support operational excellence.
  • Travel requirement: 10% (Domestic and International).

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Experience supporting aerospace propulsion systems or gas turbine engines.
  • Experience with compressor, fan, or rotating hardware engineering.
  • Experience using Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project, or similar engineering/project management tools.
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams.

  • Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 (U.S. only).
