Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead Integrated Product Team Leadership (IPTL) within the APS unit in California. You will drive program execution, coordinate with engineering and other functions, and ensure milestones, budgets, and performance objectives are met on a demanding defense development program at RTX.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years in defense program management, a Secret clearance, and ability to collaborate across sites while traveling about 10% of the time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant program management experience.
• Defense industry IPT/PM experience.
• Leads cross‑functional teams across multiple disciplines.
• Familiar with EVMS, IMP/IMS, or Risk & Opportunity management.
• Active Secret U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Meet contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned program(s).
• Report business metrics to program and functional leadership (EAC).
• Provide technical leadership to design, develop, integrate & test systems meeting performance requirements.
• Communicate program status to Raytheon leadership and customers.
• Contribute to a common program vision and execution strategies as part of the Program Leadership Team.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks or capture opportunities.
• Provide mentoring to team members.
• Travel as necessary to support the program (approx. 10%).
