Job description

Coretec, LLC is hiring an experienced Integrated Operations Center (IOC) Analyst to join the operations team supporting a high-profile federal legislative-branch client. As a Tier 3 analyst, you’ll be at the center of keeping mission-critical IT services reliable and available — monitoring enterprise systems, driving rapid incident response, and coordinating across teams to minimize downtime during major service disruptions. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role in a 24/7 operations environment where your work directly protects the availability of services that thousands of users depend on every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Continuously monitor IT systems, infrastructure, and applications to detect performance issues, outages, and anomalies before they escalation into major incidents.
  • Respond to and triage alerts from enterprise monitoring and observability tools, assessing severity, categorization, and business impact.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point — diagnosing and troubleshooting complex network, server, application, and database issues, and escalating to the right teams when needed.
  • Classify and prioritize incidents in line with ITIL/ITSM guidelines and document escalations accurately in the problem-management system.
  • Write and disseminate alert notifications and incident communications, keeping internal teams, management, and stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
  • Partner with system owners to onboard systems into observability platforms, tune monitoring configurations, dashboards, and thresholds, and reduce non-actionable alerts.
  • Produce post-incident analysis, incident-trend reporting, knowledge articles, and shift-handover documentation to strengthen continuity and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance to Tier 1 service desk staff and serve as Watch Commander during major incident activations, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • This is a in-person role located in Washington, DC.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, and service-delivery practices.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Nagios, or similar).
  • Experience with ticketing systems and incident-management tools, and working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot at a Tier 3 level across network, server, application, and database layers.
  • Experience with Power BI and Power Automate for reporting and workflow automation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with executive-level stakeholders under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including rotating shifts, after-hours, and on-call availability.
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Capitol Police / federal background check.

Preferred

  • ITIL certification; CompTIA certifications; certifications in networking, monitoring, or Microsoft products.
  • Related IT degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with knowledge-management practices and problem-management platforms (e.g., BMC Helix).
