Job summary

KC Current is seeking a Manager, Integrated Communications to shape and amplify the team’s narrative across KC Current II, Teal Rising initiatives, and grassroots programs. You’ll lead media relations, storytelling, and content strategy to deepen fan and partner engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in sports communications, media relations, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
• Experience developing and executing communications strategies and media relations programs.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of media relations, public relations, storytelling, and brand communications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with media, athletes, coaches, and organizational leaders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and communications technologies.
• Familiarity with media monitoring, reporting platforms, and AP Style.
• Passion for women's sports and the growth of professional soccer.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated communications strategies for KC Current II and academy programs.
• Identify messaging to elevate the KC Current ecosystem.
• Create narratives featuring players and coaches.
• Ensure messaging consistency across channels.
• Support announcements and milestones.
• Serve as primary contact for KC Current II media.
• Manage day-to-day media inquiries and interviews.
• Draft releases, advisories, statements, talking points.
• Build relationships with local to international media.
• Pitch stories to generate earned coverage.
• Monitor coverage and report on effectiveness.
• Lead communications for KC Current II matchdays and training.
• Coordinate press conferences and game notes.
• Support team travel communications.
• Oversee social media strategy for KC Current II.
• Create content for websites, newsletters, guides.
• Collaborate with other departments for cohesive storytelling.
• Support game-day operations and executive communications initiatives.
