  • Build and manage the physical periodization of the annual training plan in close partnership with the KCC II technical staff.
  • Track training load across daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal timescales using current sport science technology, including but not limited to GPS, heart rate data, and wellness/readiness screening.
  • Keep training methodology, player monitoring, rehabilitation progressions, and performance standards vertically aligned with the First Team and Academy.
  • Support players moving between the First Team, KCC II, and the Academy, and monitor the load implications of those daily movements.
  • Prepare players for training and matches through pre-training activation, injury risk reduction work, fueling, and recovery programming.
  • Lead on-field warm-ups and cool-downs for all KCC II training sessions and matches.
  • Contribute to return-to-play progressions alongside the medical staff.
  • Coordinate nutrition, hydration, and supplementation guidance for the group.
  • Maintain accurate performance records, testing data, and athlete monitoring reports.
  • Help advance sports performance initiatives across the Kansas City Current player pathway.
  • Represent the Kansas City Current and its affiliates professionally at all times.
  • Travel with KCC II for away matches, training camps, and other team activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of strength and conditioning or sports performance experience working with collegiate, academy, or professional athletes.
