Job summary

Walden Behavioral Care in Dedham, MA is seeking a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Medicine-Pediatrics physician to join our multidisciplinary team. You will provide comprehensive medical evaluations and manage medical complications for patients with eating disorders in a collaborative behavioral health setting.

Qualified candidates hold an MD/DO with board eligibility or certification and MA license. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a strong focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification (or eligibility) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Medicine and Pediatrics (both).
• Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in behavioral health, eating disorder treatment, or hospital-based medicine is preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to manage medically complex patients.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, treatment, and ongoing management for patients receiving eating disorder treatment at Walden Behavioral Care.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, dietitians, and nursing staff to ensure holistic, integrated patient care.
• Monitor and manage medical complications related to eating disorders, including but not limited to electrolyte imbalances, malnutrition, and refeeding syndrome.
• Conduct routine medical assessments and follow-ups, including laboratory review and medication management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
• Educate patients and families on medical aspects of eating disorders, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
• Support transitions of care, including discharge planning and coordination with outpatient providers.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
