Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an Integrated Cable Harness Drafter Designer to support cable assembly development for GA-ASI platforms. You will work with Electrical Integration in CAD (PTC Creo, NX) and Zuken E3 to deliver detailed drawings, bills of materials, and as-built documentation.

The role requires 3+ years drafting experience, advanced 3D CAD skills, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Onsite work and potential travel up to 25% are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate in drafting with 3+ years of related experience.
• Proven advanced drafting techniques and 3D CAD solid modeling expertise.
• Familiar with industry standards; strong math skills in algebra, geometry and trig.
• Good written and verbal communication; capable of teamwork.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings, parts lists, schematics, and assemblies from notes or sketches.
• Verify work with dimension checks and calculations using manuals and catalogs.
• Set drawing views, scales, tolerances, and sectioning for production drawings.
• Ensure fit and interface of parts within tolerances and interface limits.
• Create or revise 3D CAD drawings as needed for engineering.
• Create as-built drawings from field examinations and maintain data records.
• Observe safety rules and company procedures; may direct others as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
