Job summary

Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is seeking three compassionate psychiatrists to join our integrated Behavioral Health Department. As an FQHC, we serve the Greater New Haven community with evidence-based care and whole-person health.

You will provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team while maintaining high standards of care and leading clinical initiatives in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. with a current Connecticut medical license to provide psychiatric services.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry and current CPR certification required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with the assigned patient population.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, assessment, and behavioral health treatment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Cultural competence and age-/population-specific clinical competencies.
• Occasional travel within Connecticut required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews clinical aspects of ongoing Behavioral Health programs with the Medical Director.
• Maintains and models psychiatric standards of practice and quality of care.
• Reviews treatment plans and reviews for quality care.
• Performs evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication management as needed.
• Assists with emergencies to protect client and staff safety.
• Documents all clinical and administrative work.
• Supervises APRNs/clinical staff and participates in team meetings.
• Provides education on psychopharmacology and psychiatric assessment.
