Job summary

Providence Community Health Centers is seeking an Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician to join the primary care team in Providence, RI. You will assess behavioral health and/or substance use issues and provide brief treatment within the clinic, helping patients manage chronic conditions in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Masters or Doctorate in social work, with medical integration experience.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in social work from an accredited college or university.
• Ideal candidate will have experience or internship in a medical setting that supports a primary care integration model.
• Commitment to working in community health with the challenges of high risk, and often uninsured and diverse patient population required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in providing managed care patient services.
• Proven writing skills to document medical record and submit documentation.
• Strong/demonstrated communication skills, written and verbal, required.
• Ability to multi-task, and manage concurrent situations.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Knowledge and experience in information privacy/security laws, access, and release of information.
• Ability to successfully complete and pass a background check.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Full-time 40-hour schedule (part-time may be available)

Responsibilities

• Embedded within the primary care team to assess individuals with behavioral health and/or substance abuse issues.
• Provide brief treatment services within the clinical setting.
• Expand the team’s ability to treat persons with chronic medical issues that are complicated by lifestyle factors.
