The Role : Licensed Pediatric Mental Health Intake Therapist (Virtual) - 1099 Independent Contractor (IA)

We are seeking licensed therapists who are passionate about delivering mental health support through virtual intakes and assessments for students (K-12). This role offers the flexibility of working as an independent contractor while supporting our mission of accessible mental health care.
Schedule : Monday-Friday after 4pm CST
Location : Remote
What You'll Do :
As a Pediatric Mental Health Intake Therapist (Virtual) working as an independent contractor, your primary responsibility will be conducting initial mental health intakes and assessments for K-12 students.
Minimum Requirements :
What you'll be responsible for :
You are expected to maintain a schedule that accommodates student needs, which may include availability during school hours or after-school hours, depending on district requirements.
While you have control over your schedule, there will be a minimum weekly time commitment based on caseload requirements, to be discussed during the onboarding process.
You are responsible for managing your own caseload, ensuring timely intakes, assessments, and follow-up sessions as needed.
You must be responsive to communication from school personnel, families, and our care management team, and participate in occasional virtual meetings or trainings.
Participate in 15 hours of paid training during initial onboarding and ongoing as needed to access internal systems and platforms.
Hazel will credential you with insurance payors, the time spent is reimbursable time.
Computer (additional monitor encouraged) either desktop or laptop, that has a webcam and microphone
Malpractice coverage must be acquired, providing a minimum of $1 million per claim and $3 million in aggregate coverage.
You must be able to complete the functions of your job in a private, unshared and secure workspace.
Video Ready : Computer must have a working webcam, microphone, and speakers or headset.
Up-to-Date OS : Computer must run a currently supported version of its operating system (e.g., Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS).

Total compensation for this role is market competitive - $100 per session hour, $30 per no show, $40 per hour for onboarding. Please Note : As a 1099 independent contractor, you will not receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or access to Hazel's retirement savings contributions. You are responsible for managing your own taxes, securing your own equipment, insurance, and other work-related equipment and expenses.
