Overview
The Mental Health Therapist is a critical part of a dynamic outpatient team providing engaging and evidence-based psychotherapy services by using a variety of evidence-based interventions. The Mental Health Therapist may provide individual, group, couples or family counseling with telehealth services as an option. This role is a key element in providing mental health treatment access by conducting evaluations, diagnosing, creating treatment plans, implementing treatment interventions and providing referrals to best match the client’s goals for a fulfilling life.

Responsibilities
Evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment: As part of the intake team, the therapist will evaluate the client’s need for treatment by assessing the consumer’s strengths, needs, and mental health status. Assess and determine DSM 5/ICD 10 mental health diagnosis when appropriate, at evaluation and throughout the course of treatment. Develops a collaborative treatment plan with each client served to guide treatment and celebrate progress towards change. Provides evidence-based treatment interventions through individual, group, family, or couple’s mental health therapy with the goal of reducing symptoms to achieve a higher quality of life as defined by the person served. Completes and maintains the highest levels of ethical conduct within professional licensure guidelines.
Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborates with a variety of Eyerly Ball team members including the outpatient team, outreach services, and crisis response. Refers clients as needed to Eyerly Ball outreach teams and other community services. Professionally represents Eyerly Ball in coordination of care and timely communication with and/or support team of client including documentation or paperwork that may be needed.
Documentation and Administrative Functions: Documents according to regulatory standards including accuracy, timelines, and within the electronic health record. Attends and actively participates in organization trainings, team meetings, and supervision meetings as outlined by supervisor. Achieve a year-to-date productivity standard of 65%. Participate in Peer Quality Assurance practices with the clinical team.
Qualifications
Education: Master's Degree required in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
Experience: 1 year of outpatient clinical mental health service preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s): Licensed as a mental health provider in the State of Iowa. Iowa: LMSW, tLMFT, tLMHC. Illinois: LPC or the LMSW (temporary licensure is not a requirement if applicant meets QMHP criteria). Wisconsin: CAPSW, LPC-IT, MFT-IT. May be required to obtain BLS within six months of hire for certain sites.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to professionally relate to a wide variety of consumers, as well as a desire to serve as a consumer advocate. Ability to collaborate and function as a team member with multi-disciplinary colleagues. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in an ever-changing, dynamic environment and utilize good organizational skills. Practice good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete case notes and required assignments in a timely manner. Basic computer skills.
