Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking an Intake Therapist for the Day Hospital program in Towson, MD. The role involves comprehensive intake, assessment, and evaluation for child, adolescent, and adult patients requiring day hospital care, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, in-person.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work/Counseling, Maryland licensure, and at least two years of relevant experience. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and engage in treatment planning, documentation, and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling from an accredited school.
• Possession of Maryland State license (LCSW-C, LCPC, LMSW, or LGPC) at time of appointment and continuously.
• Two years of experience in a mental health or chemical dependency treatment setting.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, diagnoses, and therapies; social work theory and practice.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and families and conduct therapy sessions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates patient focus and strives to exceed expectations for customer service.
• Collects patient assessment data in a systematic, continuous and complete manner; conducts diagnostic interviews and intake evaluations.
• Develops a plan of care and coordinates with the treatment team and family.
• Completes documentation in compliance with hospital and program standards and communicates with school systems and community resources.
