Job description

Join to apply for the Intake Specialist/Outpatient Therapist role at Friendship House.

Responsibilities include:

1. Implementing and providing individual and family treatment based on treatment plans and therapeutic needs, utilizing current therapy methods as assigned by supervisor.
2. Conducting initial evaluations of clients' mental health issues, formulating diagnoses, and developing treatment plans in line with clinical standards.
3. Assisting with reminder calls/texts for appointments.
4. Conducting sessions for clients on Medication Management Services to develop and review treatment plans.
5. Serving as a clinical liaison between clients and the medical team.
6. Documenting all client services and contacts accurately.
7. Completing clinical documentation, assessments, treatment plans, reviews, and evaluations promptly.
8. Managing documentation for insurance authorizations and reauthorizations.
9. Gathering necessary documents from clients/families for liability purposes.
10. Following liability submission procedures to the approval point.
11. Identifying LSBHIDEI as the payor and coordinating authorizations.
12. Participating in team meetings, supervision, and case reviews.
13. Referring clients to additional services as needed.
14. Advocating for clients and protecting their rights.
15. Maintaining daily schedules and adhering to agency policies on conduct, confidentiality, and record keeping.
16. Performing duties professionally, respecting clients and colleagues.
17. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree preferred in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from a recognized graduate school.
• Experience or training in mental health treatment; experience with evidence-based trauma therapy models is a plus.
