Job summary

CAPECO Community Action Program of East Central Oregon in Pendleton is seeking an Intake Specialist for a limited‑duration position in the Housing department. You will process client applications, determine eligibility for housing programs, and maintain accurate files.

You will enter client information into the database, prepare reports on numbers served and funding used, and work directly with clients to gather required documentation.

Qualifications

  • A two-year college degree, which can be substituted for three years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills and legible handwriting.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently with speed and accuracy.
  • Must be able to transition from one application to another based on demand for services.
  • Previous experience interviewing and/or determining client eligibility or customer service environment will be considered.
  • Computer experience and working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with clients to gather their information and documents necessary to complete the file.
  • Conducts detailed eligibility assessments for rental assistance.
  • Determines level of need and assistance amounts.
  • Maintain accurate client records, both physical and digital.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: Pendleton Main Office
Wage: $4,006/Month

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Processes client applications and determines eligibility for housing programs. Maintains accurate client files that require retention of supporting documentation. Enter client information into database. Prepare reports identifying numbers served and funding utilized based on assistance provided.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift, and/or carry/move objects up to 50 pounds.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, photocopiers/scanners, shredders and filing cabinets.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must pass a criminal history background investigation however, a conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual from this position.
  • CAPECO is a drug free workplace and pre-employment drug screening will be required. Due to federal funding, our drug screening includes the use of marijuana.
