Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: working-level English; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years in hospital, outpatient services, or health care contact/call center.
• Licenses: None
• Certifications: None
• Computer/Typing: proficient with Microsoft Office; able to use EPIC, Aperek, Siemens systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and process referrals and/or orders in a timely manner.
• Provide face-to-face interaction to schedule patients prior to discharge and coordinate discharge orders.
• Provide financial and clinical notification of new referrals after initial screening to enable appropriate screening.
• Verify insurance coverage, review policies with patients/caregivers, and connect patients to savings programs.
• Maintain appointment schedules for specialty services requested.
• Pre-register patients, check in for appointments, collect payments, and coordinate visits.
• Order supplies required for specialty visits.
• Create a high level of service and relationship-based experience for patients.
• Maintain smooth flow of operations and communication among patients, payors, vendors, clinical teams and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for revenue optimization and cost containment.
