Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is seeking an Intake RN for PRN/Per Diem work in Scottsdale, AZ. The role coordinates inquiries, referrals, and admissions, serving as a bridge between referral sources, families, payors, physicians, and hospital staff.

The Intake RN triages patients, completes assessments to determine the appropriate level of care, and ensures admissions data are accurately entered. Insurance verification and prior authorizations may be required as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges.
• One year of experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting preferred.
• Must have or obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely intake of inquiries and referrals.
• Manage admissions processes and liaison with referral sources, families, payors and physicians.
• Triage patients and complete assessments to identify appropriate level of care.

Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake RN is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. The Intake RN duties are (but not limited to) triaging patients, completion of assessments for assisting physician in identification of an appropriate level of care for potential patients, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete nursing admission paperwork with patient. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. The Intake RN also at times be responsible for the verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
