Job summary

Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health in Leland, North Carolina, seeks an Intake Registered Nurse for PRN coverage. The role facilitates admissions, conducts clinical intake assessments, verifies insurance, and coordinates prior authorizations to ensure appropriate care levels.

As an onsite position, the Intake Clinician collaborates with nursing, medical and business office staff to streamline admissions, screen patients, and communicate recommendations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health, or related field.
• One year+ experience in mental/behavioral health preferred.
• RN license or equivalent licensure as designated by the state.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates intake, admission, and prior authorization process.
• Performs insurance benefit verifications and communicates findings to patients and staff.
• Provides call center coverage during high volume periods and processes admission requests.
• Conducts pre-admission assessments and communicates recommendations to patients or families.
• Maintains documentation involved with the admissions process and coordinates with medical and psychiatric staff.
