Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
• Completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
• A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
• A bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology or related social sciences and one year of casework experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 college credits in the related social sciences.
• Applicants will be considered to have met educational requirements within two months of graduating.

Responsibilities

• Interview clients, families, and collateral contacts to identify barriers to child safety and well-being.
• Evaluate eligibility for services and determine supports required by families.
• Create family service plans, make referrals, and manage an active caseload.
• Maintain organized, accurate case files and documentation.
• Provide supervised counseling and assist with protective services for children.
• Complete assessments, home studies, reports, and court testimony as needed.
