  • Collect necessary client data including demographics, needs, and housing history, using electronic tablets or paper forms.
  • Verify eligibility and communicate with dispatch, DFSS, and shelter partners to confirm placements.
Onsite Intake Support
  • Assist with intake support at the central intake facility as needed, including helping walk-in clients complete assessments, verifying availability, and preparing for transportation.
  • Greet clients and visitors with professionalism and help maintain a calm and respectful environment.
  • Monitor behavior in the intake/waiting area and provide support in de-escalating tense or disruptive situations using trauma-informed, nonviolent methods.
  • Assist with monitoring environmental safety, support weather-related protocol activation, and notify maintenance or janitorial staff of hazards
  • Provide crowd management and de-escalation support during high-volume shifts.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete all trip logs, intake records, and system entries (e.g., The Grove, spreadsheets, or agency apps) in real time or by shift end.
  • Participate in debriefs, shift huddles, and ongoing training to improve service delivery.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all privacy policies, including HIPAA and data-sharing rules.
