Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is hiring an Intake Counselor at Indian Creek Correctional Center in Chesapeake, VA.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to support inmates with substance use disorder. The role requires a HS diploma or GED, with bachelor's preferred, knowledge of records management, and experience in correctional settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in administrative and records management.
• Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Meet with primary Counselor to review intake and initial treatment plan.
• Correct documentation deficiencies within established time frames.
• Assist Clinical Supervisors with weekly chart audits and discharge planning.
• Maintain file room and clinical records per standards and regulations.
• Address participant issues promptly in line with Spectrum's design.

Location:

Chesapeake, VA. Indian Creek Correctional Center is a level 2 medium security prison. This facility provides specialized treatment services to individuals with substance use disorder.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm OR 7:45 am - 4:45 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Pay Rate:

$24.04-$25.00/hour

The Intake Counselor is responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established time frames and with input from the client and multi-disciplinary team.
• Meeting with participant's primary Counselor to review intake and initial treatment plan information within designated time frame.
• Correcting all documentation deficiencies in established time frames as directed by the Clinical Supervisor.
• Assisting the Clinical Supervisors with weekly chart audits and discharge planning.
• File room upkeep and maintaining clinical records in accordance with all regulatory, contractual, and Spectrum standards.
• Addressing program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum's clinical design.

Qualifications:

• No formal certification required.
• Minimum of HS Diploma/GED.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in administrative and records management is a plus.
• Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
