Universal Health Services’ The BridgeWay in Arkansas is seeking an Intake Coordinator to support the assessment team by coordinating admissions, collecting referrals, verifying information, and scheduling patient assessments.

This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, CPR and CPI certification, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field; insurance verification/billing experience is preferred.

We are currently looking for a dynamic professional to join our team. The Intake Coordinator provide administrative support for the assessment team by assuming the responsibility for the coordination of an effective, efficient admission process for all patients by receiving referrals, gathering and verifying pertinent information, and completing necessary procedures to schedule patients for assessments. This position works closely with the Nursing Department and external clinicians to facilitate the admission process for clinically appropriate patients. The Intake Coordinator also inputs statistical information into appropriate hospital systems and performs other clerical duties as needed to assist the department.

Qualifications

Licenses or Certifications: Current CPR and CPI; offered onsite

Total education, vocational training and experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. At least 1 year experience with insurance verification/billing preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent professional, organizational and communication skills.
2. Ability to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients during intake calls
3. Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff. Knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
5. Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional and empathetic manner.
6. Demonstrates strong knowledge of computer input and skills.
7. Knowledge of medical terminology.
8. Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions, multi-task and be detail oriented.
9. Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies and insurance companies.
