Job summary

New Opportunities, Inc. is hiring for Seasonal Full‑time Energy Assistance positions in the Waterbury and Meriden area. The role pays $17.25 per hour for a 40-hour week, with an Monday–Friday 8am–5pm schedule and on-site work.

You will evaluate client applications, determine eligibility, enter data, verify documents, and guide clients through the process to help them secure heating assistance. Strong data entry and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience in social services or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation review.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to assess eligibility criteria and interpret program guidelines.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, data management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Prior experience in social services, case management, or related roles is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s license and transportation to community intake sites.

Responsibilities
