Job summary

Charter Oak Behavioral Health Hospital in Covina, CA, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Specialist in the Needs Assessment Department. This part-time role offers 8-hour shifts with weekend availability and pays $23–$25 per hour.

The position provides direct patient care to individuals with emotional or psychiatric disorders, handles calls, transports patients, and supports clerical duties while you build a career in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hospital and/or psych experience preferred.
• Telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
• Basic knowledge of human behavior or psychology useful.
• Ability to maintain confidential information and professional boundaries.
• BLS for healthcare provider required upon hire; TOT to be obtained prior to direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders.
• Field and route calls as necessary; accompany and transport patients as assigned.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to patient care and department.
