Job summary

The Queens District Attorney's Office in Kew Gardens, NY seeks a managerial professional to lead the Intake and Assessments Bureau (IAB). The role supervises attorneys and staff, oversees training on standards of proof, and drives performance through evaluations and project oversight.

Qualifications

• Must possess a J.D. degree and be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing.
• Experience advising junior assistants and trial prep assistants in case analysis and enhancement.
• Experience in training, interacting with other law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and managing IAB attorneys and support staff.
• Training IAB attorneys on standards and burdens of proof; and complaint drafting.
• Training IAB attorneys in best practices for investigatory, trial advocacy and litigation skills; uphold ethical standards.
• Supporting professional development of TPA/Paralegals with training programs.
• Providing direct supervision to TPA/Paralegals.
• Monitoring performance and drafting evaluations.
• Overseeing short and long term projects.
• Interfacing with NYPD, Corporation Counsel, medical providers, defense providers and other offices.
• Generating policy and statistical reports on bail applications.
• Maintaining weekly schedule of IAB staff and timekeeping records.
• Performing other duties as required; willingness to work flexible hours including nights/weekends/holidays.
