Otterbein SeniorLife seeks an Intake & Authorization Coordinator to support home health and hospice services in an in-office role. You will handle intake calls, coordinate referrals and authorizations, and manage admission processes with accuracy and care.

The role emphasizes payer verification, EMR data entry, confidential documentation, and strong communication with referral sources, residents, and teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in admissions, authorization, or administrative work preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR and healthcare systems such as Allscripts, Trella Health, PCC, MatrixCare, and Careficient preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer intake calls with urgency and professionalism.
• Coordinate referrals, insurance authorizations, and admission details to support a fast and accurate start of care.
• Gather required patient information and enter into EMR accurately; update as needed.
• Assemble and manage start-of-care or admission packets.
• Notify patients of out-of-pocket costs and collect payments as needed.
• Verify patient payer coverage through electronic portals.
