Job summary

JMT Consulting is seeking a Senior Technical Advisory & Solution Design Consultant to drive discovery, design, and delivery across the ERP lifecycle for nonprofit clients. Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience across ERP implementation, financial-systems consulting, solution design, business-process advisory, or related professional services.
• Strong accounting and finance foundation with GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Experience with nonprofit finance environments and ERP ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex discovery with CFOs, controllers, and finance teams to capture requirements and outcomes.
• Lead Sage Intacct/system reviews and identify opportunities to improve configuration, reporting, and adoption.
• Conduct business-process assessments beyond software configuration to optimize people, data, and technology interactions.
• Design executable solutions translating requirements into scoped, priced, deliverable actions.
• Support implementation readiness by identifying governance, data, and adoption issues before work begins.
• Support Sales and CAM/CX opportunities with technical discovery, RFP/RFQ responses, and demonstrations where required.
• Protect the Sales-to-Delivery handoff by ensuring clear business requirements and decisions are captured during discovery.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Technical Advisory & Solution Design Consultant to connect client need, business process, solution design, and successful delivery across the ERP client lifecycle.

This is a senior advisory role that works across Professional Services, Sales, and Customer Experience. You will work with prospective and existing nonprofit clients to diagnose complex accounting and operational challenges, assess systems and processes, and translate those findings into practical, executable solutions. Your work may begin before an SOW exists and continue after implementation through system reviews, optimization, and advisory support.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex discovery. Work with CFOs, Controllers, finance teams, and operational leaders to understand current-state processes, pain points, requirements, risks, and desired outcomes.
• Lead Intacct System Reviews. Assess existing Sage Intacct environments and identify opportunities to improve configuration, reporting, workflows, controls, integrations, adoption, and system utilization.
• Conduct business-process assessments. Look beyond software configuration to understand how accounting, people, process, data, and technology interact.
• Design executable solutions. Translate business and accounting requirements into practical recommendations that can be scoped, priced, and successfully delivered.
• Support implementation readiness. Identify process, data, governance, resource, adoption, and decision-making issues that could affect implementation success before work begins.
• Support complex Sales opportunities. Participate in technical discovery, RFP/RFQ responses, solution validation, and complex demonstrations when deeper ERP, nonprofit accounting, or process expertise is required.
• Support CAM/CX opportunities. Provide senior technical and advisory support for existing clients requiring optimization, redesign, expansion, or complex problem solving.
• Strengthen SOW quality. Review complex scopes and assumptions, identify dependencies and nonstandard requirements, and help ensure what JMT commits to can be successfully delivered.
• Protect the Sales-to-Delivery handoff. Ensure delivery teams receive the business requirements, accounting context, design decisions, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and commitments already developed during discovery.
• Build JMT methodology. Convert recurring client needs and lessons learned into reusable discovery frameworks, assessment methods, templates, decision trees, solution patterns, and best practices.
• Develop others. Build additional capability across the ERP team to perform defined discovery, system review, and advisory activities rather than creating a single point of dependency.

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years of experience across ERP implementation, financial-systems consulting, solution design, business-process advisory, or related professional services.
• Strong accounting and finance foundation with demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, fund accounting, grants, allocations, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit finance and operating environments.
• Broad ERP implementation experience and the ability to translate business problems into process and system recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex discovery and business-process conversations with executive and finance stakeholders.
• Experience translating discovery into executable scope and implementation requirements.
• Strong executive communication, facilitation, analytical judgment, documentation, and knowledge-transfer discipline.
• Ability to operate effectively across Sales, Customer Experience, and Professional Services.

Preferred Experience

• Sage Intacct implementation, consulting, or advisory experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with other nonprofit ERP or financial systems.
• Business Process Review / BPR experience.
• Experience with integrations, reporting, data, FP&A, or adjacent finance technologies.
• Experience developing consulting methodologies, standards, or training.
• Project management or change-management experience; PMP is helpful but not required.
