Job summary

The Mutual Group is offering an introductory rotational internship, Insure Your Future, exposing you to Customer Experience, Claims, Underwriting and Finance. You will collaborate with leaders and peers to gain insight into daily insurance operations and build real-world skills in a dynamic environment.

As an onsite intern at the West Des Moines home office, you’ll complete learning sessions, receive mentorship, and contribute to meaningful projects while expanding your professional network.

Qualifications

• Active college student in Freshman or Sophomore standing.
• Attending an eligible four-year college or university in Iowa.
• Onsite attendance to home office (1111 Ashworth Road, WDM).
• Student pursuing business majors including but not limited to: Accounting, Administration & Management, Economics, Finance, HR, Marketing, Data Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in team and leader meetings.
• Experience and learn the fundamentals of TMG’s operations including business strategy, profitability, and organizational structure.
• Shadow team members and experience underwriting decision‑making, relationship building, and daily operations.
• Participate in intern sponsored activities and learning experiences.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey clear, concise information to others.
• Driven by positive and professional attitude and strong work ethic.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Self‑disciplined, proactive, and takes ownership and responsibility.
