Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a benefits verification specialist to support pre-admission and admission processes. You will interview patients or representatives, enter required information into our computer system, and coordinate with ancillary departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes accuracy in collecting patient data, adherence to hospital policies, and participation in performance improvement activities within a 170-bed acute care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing speed around 40 wpm and basic medical terminology preferred.
• Strong clerical and computer literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for verification of benefits for all hospital patients.
• Arrange for efficient pre-admission of inpatients and outpatients with follow-up.
• Ensure patient information is collected and communicated per hospital policies.
• Interviews patients or representatives and enters admission data into the database.
• Distributes information to ancillary departments and participates in CQI activities.
