Qualifications

• Previous medical insurance, insurance verification, healthcare administration, or medical office experience.
• Strong understanding of insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and patient responsibility.
• Medical coding is NOT required; billing handled by a professional service.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Review coverage and determine patient financial responsibility.
• Obtain and document insurance information accurately.
• Complete required front-end insurance paperwork and documentation.
• Obtain prior authorizations and other required approvals.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding coverage and requirements.
• Ensure all necessary information is collected before services and claims are sent to the billing service.
• Identify and resolve insurance discrepancies or missing information.
• Maintain accurate patient and insurance records.
• Communicate financial and insurance information professionally with patients.
• Assist with scheduling and general administrative duties.
• Serve as a backup receptionist and handle front-office duties.
• Support the team with other administrative tasks as needed.
